January 2007

2007/1 Owari!

Cain has made a thread that shows links to “1998 Ultimate Match” videos. You see two random players playing the game and see various voice actors such as Athena’s Ikezawa Haruna-san (her first big role by the way) doing the commentating. It’s interesting to hear Yasui Kunihiko-san, Iori’s seiyuu, to do his famous victory laugh in front of the people. I believe the game will be out in less than three months.

Uh, I changed my mind about the post dates for next month and I’m most likely going to be posting on the 26th. The reason is because this month really should have been my month in which I just fly. I didn’t really fly that much. It is the first month of the year and I didn’t do a whole lot. Starting tomorrow, I really plan on sleeping a lot.

I’m going to crash soon. I can sleep at ease now thankfully. Mata ne.

Blog Fixing

Didn’t do much today because I’m beat, but I managed to fix the category pages. Sort of. I did what I could do with what little energy I have left.

I’m going to sleep soon.

“Quiz Magic Academy IV” and Nihon/「クイズマジックアカデミーⅣ」と日本。

I better make this quick, seeing that I’m about to crash. I always say “I better make this quick,” don’t I? It’s a habit, I guess.

Anyway, remember this entry? Chupiler showed me the site of “Quiz Magic Academy IV” just recently. (Don’t know the release date, but it should be later this year.) For those that don’t know, “Quiz Magic Academy” is a quiz game series by Konami that started three years ago. What makes the series unique is that it’s an online quiz game. The problem with the games is that the questions are obviously in Japanese.

Don’t believe me? “Quiz Magic Academy Net” states in its English page that all of the questions are in Japanese. Oh and guess what? Unlike a game like “Quiz Nanairo Dreams”, a quiz game made by Capcom more than a decade ago and a game I have actually made a guide on, there are no questions that ask about English! That’s what I would assume.

So, why in the world am I ranting about a game I am most likely going to be killed in? The answer is because I have always felt that somewhere down the road, the game or the series in general has potential. What’s funny is that this could end up being, and I am so serious about saying this, my game of 2007. Aside from the art, it has seiyuu such as Tamura Yukari-san who plays as Clala and Kuwashima Houko-san who plays as Ruquia, and this is an online game. Not to mention, this is a learning game.

Okay. I admit. I did see a testing movie that was disturbing, but I won’t get into that. What’s important is that it’s a learning game I’ll end up playing and probably a fun one at that too.

Oh! I will go to Japan in a few months. I am going to be in Tokyo for the most part, altough I’ll try to sneak a day dedicated for Kyoto. I will only be there for a week because of various reasons. I’ll be able to do what I wanted to do ever since I was 17. Of course, I plan to buy a bunch of stuff. I can’t forget this game also. I will try to do well, though I’ll get killed obviously.

I want to visit Seoul after this trip, but that won’t be for a while. Oh well. I will hopefully get the sources I need.

Okay! I’m off! I so don’t want to work the day after tomorrow, but I have to. The reason’s because every last Wednesday of the month is when I have my big laundry day. That’s why. I’ll just wing it for the next couple of days and then I’ll really dedicate February to rest. Ja mata ne.

“Hellsing” Winning Post

Yeah, I crashed last night. I wasn’t able to make that second post yesterday, but oh well. I’m barely up, but I’ll make a second post later today. Maybe a third. That is if all goes well.

Last month, I made a post about why I deserved to win a copy of “Hellsing Ultimate’s” first volume. It turns out that I am one of the four winners. I forgot to mention that of those four winners, two of them get the special edition and I am one of those two people. Hee hee!

“Hellsing’s” not the only series involved in a contest I entered. There’s also a “Disgaea” one. Yes, I have heard that the anime was horrid, but the game was actually fun, even though I never got to finish it and that I sold it so that I could buy my Japanese PS2. I had to sell a bunch of games to get that PS2 now that I mentioned it.

Chupiler told me about a “Sentimental Graffiti” credit card, or rather a “Sentimental Graffiti II” actually, just recently. Here is the page. There’s also one of Rei from “Evangelion” and Ruri from “Nadesico”. I think I looked the page up after I told him that I would want a credit card with Puchiko. I don’t remember if Broccoli has one of Puchiko, but I remember that they did have credit cards of various characters, many of those from “Galaxy Angel”.

We also talked about some issue I don’t want to scar you with. Maybe. (Thanks to the site he showed me, I was unable to sleep at ease that night.) I will not say anymore about this issue.

I better mention two last notes before I head off to eat. One, this post really made me twitch for a bit. The other note is that I hope Maestro and Impz have speedy recoveries. I guess that’s all for now, seeing that I’m still barely up.

2007 Outline

I better make this entry quick. Yes, today is Friday (here at least), but this isn’t the last day I’m going to post for the month. That’ll be tomorrow. (I was going to make it the day after tomorrow, but the chances of an entry up that day are very little and besides, I wanted a safe day in tomorrow anyway.)

Next month, I will place up four entries with the first one being on the 3rd. I know that this routine is not the best in the world, but you have to remember that most of 2007 will be a recovery year for me. Well, there’s that and some other reasons. If you really want to know what’s the outline of the rest of this year, assuming that I don’t have obstacles against me, it’ll be like this:

January - 1 more entry today and 1 tomorrow.

February - 4 entries: the 3rd, the 13th, the 26th and the end of the month.

March - 3 entries: the 2nd, the 14th and the 29th.

April - No entries (because I have important matters to take care of during this month).

May - 3 entries: the 4th, the 10th and the end of the month.

June - No entries (because both of my parents were born on this month and it wouldn’t be right if I bring out entries here).

July - 2 entries: the 4th and my birthday.

August - 1 entry: the 7th.

September - 2 entries: the 7th and the 19th.

October - 2 entries: the 3rd and the 10th.

November - 1 entry: the 28th.

December - I’ll bring out a bunch of posts, most notably on the 7th, the 11th, the 20th and New Year’s Eve. (I don’t want to make an entry on Christmas this year, a task I somewhat regret not doing last month.)

That’s that. I have stuff to take care of. Mata ne.

2007/3 “HM3 Special”

The current volume of “HM3 Special”, volume 44, was released yesterday in Japan. On the cover this time is Mizuki Nana.

This is an early present for Mizuki-san and a good one indeed.

Blog Improvements

One of the strengths of this blogs as people told me is that this is a very organized blog. What I’m doing right now is making that strength better to a good degree. The reason why I’m not doing this to the fullest as of this moment is because I feel real beat. At least listening to a bunch of songs is making this process easy. Seeing that I talk about various topics, you will see lots of categories and I’m adding a bunch of category pages now.

I know that I should place up more images, but you have to remember that I’m not much of an image guy. I am not one who loves throwing a bunch of images into my entries. I prefer typing my entries out, but I will place up one or two images.

I want to type more kanji and kana in this site. The problem with that is by doing so, it’ll be a clone of Seiyuu3. There’s that and I really can’t back up that Japanese statement I placed in my profile at the end if I do place up more kanji and kana than what you see up to this point.

I shouldn’t be updating. I should be sleeping. I am so shooting myself in the foot for doing this.

Well, that’s all for now. I hope it turns out the way I want it to turn out. じゃまたね。

2 2007 Quote of the Year Candidates

“I really only want cookies…or a green haired, neko mimi, loli plushie.” - Impz after being told on whether or not I should give Trappy-tan a cookie or a Zenkai Kiaidan for telling me to watch “Saint October”.

“Yes, she is kawaii. Sickeningly so. I want to be that cute, but it’s the amazing power of Japanese women to do WHATEVER they want and still be cute. They can wear ANYTHING, put their hair in ANY style…and they’re damnably cute. You know it’s true. Japanese women have special powers.” - Tashoku Kisune after she saw Mizuki Nana-san in the “Justice to Believe/アオイイロ” video.

I don’t know if one of those words in the second quote really is a word, but anyway, I started a silly “Quote of the Year” thing last year I believe. (I had thoughts prior, but I didn’t do any action until last year.) Last year, Undead Fred won the award by saying, “Speaks in strange code about voice actress-tan,” in regards of myself as we and other people were playing a “Say Something About the Last Poster” game at Maddoman no Kissaten. I just to let everyone know that I do not use “-tan” after a voice actress, unless she’s younger than me. That or if I’m too tired and act all kawaii by saying “-tan”.

I’m watching “Nodame Cantabile”, but I’m watching the raibu dorama version. I’m also watching “Ouran”. Yes, I’m slow, but who cares? I was reporting on “Pink Sweets” at the time anyway.

There’s a chance I’ll bring a post on Friday and that’ll be it for the rest of the month. Today, I’ll just do a fan art or two because I’ve been putting this activity off for a short while and I want to do some at ease. My art’s not terrific, but at least some people say that it’s better than what they can do.

Hmmm? I’m supposed to pick a quote now? It’s a bit too early, ne?

Note of 1/16: “damnably” is in fact a word. I looked it up myself. Ha ha ha!

2007/2 “HM3 Special”

On the cover of volume 43, the current volume, of “HM3 Special” is Tamura Yukari.

That dress is okay, but I’ve seen better looks from Tamura-san. It makes sense for her to be on it because she’s born on the 27th of next month. For some reason, when I entered the index page, it seemed to change covers and it has a cover of Nonaka Ai-san. Whether or not there’s an alternate version, I don’t know. (I personally think so, but it won’t matter in the end.) It sounds weird, but she is not only mentioned on the cover, there’s a 2007 calendar of her also.

I have side notes. You can find New Year’s images of her and Mizuki Nana-san here and you can find a Christmas image of Horie Yui-san here, both being Seiyuu3 posts. This Seiyuu3 post shows you where to view Mizuki-san’s video of her latest single “Justice to Believe/アオイイロ” which managed to be ranked 4th on the charts the month before last month. She’s so kawaii in that seifuku. XD
