Mixi is a walled garden (it can only be accessed with a login). As such, it's only interesting as a way to snoop at gullible Japanese who flock to it. I wouldn't put any effort into a content for it.

I agree that bilingulal Mixi pages look ridiculous. English pages look invasive (basically like Portugese in Orkut).

In no particular order:

-Kikuko Inoue: a great seiyuu with a very unique voice that voiced many great characters over the years.

-Michie Tomizawa: Probably the best "oooh ho ho ho!" laugh in anime.

-Sayaka Ohara: Aria's Alicia and Scrapped Princess' Raquel are a good enough reason.

-Megumi Hayashibara: even when she voiced a lot of annoying characters, she's Faye.

-Yukari Fukui: she may make your ears bleed, but you'll never forget Nono.

-Michiko Neya: like Kikuko, just too many great characters.

-Noriko Hidaka: Noriko is Noriko. Hot blood.

-Akiko Yajima: Because of her work as Diva.

-Ami koshimizu: Blood's Mao, E7's Anemone and more.

-Mamiko Noto: because of Masane and Sayoko.

Fanime is my "home" con, although I do it live-in. I can't stomach commuting to a con. So, I see it from the same position as other conventions.

In the end I was to Fanime twice and it was a bit too disorganized. AX is ran better and is far glitzier. It basically is the con of America, especially after the recent size explosion when it became twice bigger than Otakon. It's a little surprise that they are able to rope bigger and bigger names. I think I even heard of someone semi-recognizeable visitng AX on her own.

The question is, who is in it for the long haul. I would not mind teaming with Impz, but I don't have the time for a serious committment. I saw, for example, Rand Simberg (a prominent blogger) take on co-bloggers, only for them to post sporadically and then fall off in the space of a few months.

[...] Remember this entry? It appears that TAB is now doing the judging and surprisingly, I’m only up against four people. (Figured that there would be way more than that.) To be honest, I did it just for kicks. I don’t really expect to be the chosen typer. I just wanted to have fun with it. [...]
